When I stepped off the plane in Shanghai, China
after a 14 hour flight it was already the next day. Like being beamed to another
planet I was immersed beyond all my senses in the Chinese culture. At the crack of
dawn the next day our translator met us and promptly introduced us to the famous
Master Cheng Bingsong, a medium build trim man who looked the age of his mid
twenties. Much to my surprise he was pushing forty.
It was a short walk down to Shu Lake that
gave Hangzhou much of its fame over the centuries. It was early in the morning as
the mist mystically disappeared from the edges of the lake. Master Cheng began his
warm up at one of many nearby traditional gardens surrounding the lake.
A crowd grew, and many began to follow his simple
movements. After he finished the simple sequence of move that took less than 10
minutes, there was as gathering of at least 20 people following Master Cheng's
demonstration of Wu Ji Gong.
I filmed him for over two hours straight as we
repeatedly took extra footage of this simple 10 minute practice called Wu Ji Gong.
Master Cheng never seemed to break a sweat and seemed to beam with an energy that
expand more and more around him as he practiced the Wu Ji Gong. His movements were
as graceful as the morning doves that seemed to glide around him as he
practiced. Although, many local people practiced their own special forms throughout
the garden, a handfull remained and followed along as they watched Master Cheng
work his form.
By now he had finished the routine and a few brave
souls appoached him to ask questions. Many spoke in Chinese and the conversations
were translated. He explained how he learned the from from Master Shi Hui.
Master Chin explained that when he first learned Wu Ji Gong, he suffered from
insomnia and colitis in the army.
Wu Ji Gong form
is a rare medical and cosmological form of qi gong, that has proved to create altered states of
deep calmness and consciousness. The name Wu Ji Gong means, Primordial as in "no boundaries",
literally before Yin and Yang, therefore before Tai Chi, (as Tai Chi deals with polarity, Yin and
Yang). So Wu Ji preceded Tai Chi. You can generate greater nervous system energy from Wu Ji Gong
than Tai Chi. You will become healthier more quickly and maintain the healthy state way longer with
ease and minimal practice space.

The average person may take up to half an hour to reach a state of profound relaxation (Alpha),
